1. Introduction

Gita Prana ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. Our core mission is to help you disconnect from digital noise, not to collect your data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information.

2. Data We Collect

Account Information

If you create an account, we collect your email address and basic profile information to sync your progress across devices via Firebase Authentication.

Usage Data

We securely track your "Kundalini Path" progress (verses unlocked) and basic settings (sound preferences, haptics) to provide the gamified experience. This is stored securely in Firebase.

On-Device App Usage (Android)

To notice when you have reached a limit you set, Gita Prana uses Android's Accessibility and Usage Access permissions. The accessibility service reads only the package name of the app currently in the foreground — never screen contents, text you type, or passwords. We do not transmit, collect, or store your app usage history on our servers. Which apps you limit, and how long you spend in them, is computed and kept entirely on your device.

Screen Time (iPhone and iPad)

On Apple devices, blocking is handled by Apple's Screen Time framework. You choose the apps to limit inside Apple's own picker, and Apple never discloses your selection to us — we are told only how many apps you picked, never which ones. This is enforced by the operating system, not by our promise.

Intervention Records

When a limit is reached and you choose to pause or to continue, we record the outcome, how long the pause lasted, and which verse you were shown, so the app can award progress and build your weekly report. These records deliberately do not include which app triggered them.

Analytics

We use Firebase Analytics to understand which parts of the app are used and where people get stuck — for example, how many people finish onboarding. This is tied to a Firebase-generated identifier, not to your name or email, and is never sold or shared for advertising. Gita Prana contains no advertising SDK.

Notifications

If you enable the daily verse reminder, we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging token for your device so we can deliver it. Turning notifications off removes the token. It identifies a device, not a person.

3. Subscriptions

We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your purchase history anonymously to grant you access to premium features. We do not have access to your credit card information; payments are processed entirely by Apple or Google.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your data strictly to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve the App.
• Sync your progress and settings across devices.
• Provide customer support.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We only share data with essential third-party service providers (e.g., Firebase for database/auth, RevenueCat for subscriptions) strictly for operating the App.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data. You can delete your account directly within the Gita Prana app settings, which permanently erases your progress and synced settings from our servers. If you have already uninstalled the app or cannot sign in, see Delete Your Account for how to request deletion by email, and for exactly what is removed and what is retained.

7. Data Retention

We keep your account data for as long as your account exists. Deleting your account from within the app removes your profile, progress and intervention records from our servers within 30 days. Anonymous analytics that cannot be linked back to you may be retained in aggregate.

8. Children

Gita Prana is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

9. Where Your Data Is Held

Account and progress data is stored on Google Cloud infrastructure in the United States. If you are in the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or India, your information may therefore be transferred outside your country. Whatever your location, you may ask us to access, correct, export or delete your data by contacting us at the address below, and you may withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account.

10. Changes To This Policy

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we will update the date at the top of this page and, where the change is significant, tell you inside the app before it takes effect.
